After a year in the US
Army, Private, first class (Pfc.) Nader Obdo has "discovered" that the Koran forbids him to
perform his duty as a soldier, and so he is applying for conscientious-objector
status. I don't object to the granting
of this to him—so long as he reimburses the government for the cost of his
training, housing, equipment, clothing, food, medical care, &c.
